Steelbro Sidelifter

The Steelbro Sidelifter, the most versatile and cost-effective equipment for integrated container handling and transport, is extensively used around the world in intermodal terminals and container ports/terminals as well as by transportation and construction companies to lift and transport shipping containers. A standard over-the-road tractor can be used to pull the Steelbro Sidelifter to deliver a shipping container anywhere.

Essentially, the Steelbro Sidelifter is a container chassis / semi-trailer equipped with specialized cranes mounted on both ends of the chassis / semi-trailer, which are used to lift shipping containers. 20', 40', and 45’ shipping containers (empty and loaded) can be lifted and transported by the Steelbro Sidelifter. The maximum load capacity of a Steelbro Sidelifter is 45 ton. Up to two shipping containers can be stacked by a Steelbro Sidelifter.

There are several models of the Steelbro Sidelifter. In the case of loaded containers the load capacities of the Steelbro Sidelifters are 36 and 45 tons. There is a 10-ton model of the Steelbro Sidcelifter, which is ideal to lift and transport empty containers but such model does not allow double stacking of containers. Steelbro Sidelifters can also be used to lift, transport, and transfer specialized cargo.
