Multimodal Transport: challenges and opportunities

“Multimodal Transport: challenges and opportunities” was one of the topics addressed in the IV Hemispheric Conference on Competitiveness, Innovation, and Logistics, which took place in Panama City, Panama earlier this month. Certainly, one of the most appealing opportunities in multimodal transport to enhance customer service is the ability to provide direct transport of shipping containers from the moment a shipping container is unloaded from a containership to the moment it is delivered at the delivery location, which increases customer service and reduces lead time and logistics costs among other benefits.

The Steelbro Sidelifter, the most versatile and cost-effective equipment for container lifting and transport, can be effectively used to provide direct transport of shipping containers from the point a shipping container is unloaded from a containership to its actual delivery point.

20’, 40’, and 45’ shipping containers (empty and loaded) can be lifted and transported by the Steelbro Sidelifter. Two 20’ shipping containers can be transported on one Steelbro Sidelfter, which maximizes productivity of container transport operations.
